“10/10 attempt at that sky lantern shot am I right?!?? 😅

No but let’s talk about this day… because hot damn! Leah and Ali from the start were so upfront about hiring me as the vendor to trust and help plan their perfect elopement here in the Oregon Gorge. They valued their video so much, they wanted to find ways to make the video be more intentional to who they are, what they love to do and for it to show their ENTIRE journey of getting married. Which all started with a ceremony with immediate family at San Francisco City Hall. Followed by renting an airstream and a Sony Z1 vlogging camera.

They planned an entire trip up and down the Oregon Coast so they could get more out of their “wedding week” and more footage to incorporate for their wedding film. After location scouting for the perfect waterfall to say their vows, the back and forth DM’s of “ooooo found some new inspo” And “ooooooo let’s go fishing here?!” to our last check in planning calls, and setting up the Vlog camera settings on FaceTime…. finally getting to hug and spend the day with these two was like hugging dear friends!!!!

It’s a beautiful thing to have a job that you feel so close to your clients with. This day was fun, creative, full of trust, full of laughs and overall 1000% engraved in our core memories. Leah and Ali, you two are some pretty rad people and I’m so honored to have made a film showcasing this entire journey. Hope you catch some good fish in your future! 🐟 💙 “

Words from the Couple

How did you both meet?

Ali and Leah met at Ali’s friends Halloween party in 2015. Leah’s friends were actually wanting to introduce Leah to another guy there who happened to be Ali’s roommate. Leah was dressed as Ariana Grande and Ali was dressed as a Ventriloquest complete with a lookalike doll (holding a bottle of vodka and a ciggarette LOL). Ali intercepted and Ali and Leah ended up talking the whole evening. At first Leah was creeped out by the doll but as the night went on she ended up holding and carrying the doll around. The party started winding down and a few mutual friends ended up going over to Ali’s house for an after party which is when Ali and Leah shared their first kiss in the kitchen. It was actually very romantic! Ali asked Leah on a date the very next evening…. and the rest is history! We’ve been together ever since.

What’s the proposal story!

As the year 2020 was coming to a close, and we all know what that year was was like. We were opening presents at home just the two of us and Marv on Christmas morning. Ali gifted me with a five point star tree topper. I got up and of course wanted to put in on the tree immediately and when I turned around I found Ali there behind me down on one knee.

Why did you choose to get married in this location/venue?!

Ali and I love being outdoors and we have always wanted to road trip up the Oregon coast. We have visited Portland in the past and fell in love with it and hatched the idea of sharing our vows in the Columbia River Gorge.

Describe the initial inspiration for the type of wedding you’re having!

The inspiration came from just dreaming up a day doing everything we enjoy to do!

Is there any special decor or details that are unique to the two of you?

All the decor pieces are being put together by us and one of my friends so every detail has been thoughtfully choses and created by ourselves. Ali built light poles for us to string lights to. We also stained a corn hole came with a custom decal. I used a few Etsy shops for many of the small decor pieces as well.

Floral descriptions: include both bouquets and the centerpieces, list types of flowers used & color palette and any unique vessels etc.

I purchased my dried bouquet and boutonnière from a shop on Etsy. We also plan to source the other flowers from the Portland Flower market. Many of the vessels and candle votives have been thrifted.
