This luxury wedding nestled in the forest of North Plains’s Horning’s Hideout venue made the perfect slate for Rosemary and Franklin’s stunning day. This foodie couple had all the treats from their favorite asian cuisine caterers, a full drink menu and even a late night ice cream truck parked right next to their dance floor. It called for an unforgettable evening! Our personal favorite: THE CHECKERED DANCE FLOOR and matching Jordan’s!

Get to know our couple | Rosemary & Franklin

How did you two meet?

“Rosemary went to school with Jessica, Franklin’s sister, in Houston. When Rosemary was visiting the PNW, Jessica invited her to come visit her at home in Beaverton. That first night, Franklin came upstairs to wish his sister happy birthday since it was just after midnight. His first words to Rosemary were, “Hi, I’m Franklin. Nice to meet you.” Then he immediately went to bed HAHA.

Franklin happened to be living at home and was doing a rotation at a hospital nearby. Therefore, Jessica invited him to tag along for dinner/hiking/going out throughout the next few days. It wasn’t love at first sight. But, it was definitely “you’re a pretty inspiring person” at first sight since Rosemary loved that Franklin found a career path and future that he was willing to work hard for and loved. Additionally, Franklin admired that Rosemary chased all the adventures, even independently. We’ve now been together for over 7 years!”

How did Franklin propose?

“Franklin had been scheming with Rosemary’s sister, Marianne, to lead Rosemary into believing that she was planning one of their usual sister trips. This one being special because it would be the last one before Marianne got married. They planned a packed itinerary for Canada, which included going snowmobiling and getting tattoos. Marianne’s fiance at the time (now husband and BEST brother-in-law) told Rosemary that he wanted to surprise Marianne. He convinced her that he had booked an airbnb experience. He even wrote a card to Marianne with an address to the location of this secret airbnb experience.

The girls routed to the location, where they were met with a photographer who led them to a picnic spot. It was in the middle of a snow-covered field in Pemberton, BC backdropped by snowy mountains. Rosemary thought Mitch had accidentally booked a picnic for 2 package that was more romantic than he realized. So didn’t suspect anything until she opened the card in the picnic basket addressed to her. The basket also contained a book that, when opened, played a video that Franklin had edited of all their travels. (Bless that man for digging through gigs of footage on multiple external hard drives without Rosemary knowing).

In the end, Franklin came out of the nearby airbnb house with flowers and a ring in hand to propose. Franklin’s and Rosemary’s siblings + their best friends came out of the house as well! They spent the rest of the weekend barbecuing, hot tubbing, hiking, and celebrating together.”
