Nicole and Steven went all out for their destination wedding bash at Acre Baja Resort in Cabo Mexico. Fire dancers, a 360 photo booth, a cigar bar, a popsicle cart on the dance floor and giant bubble guns… And that’s only the half of it.
Watch our first ever International Destination Wedding in Cabo, Mexico at Acre Baja Resort in this super upbeat film. See how this couple went all out with their vendors and cry along to their 15 year love story. See their mariachi band persuade the peacocks to come crash their cocktail hour all while the disco balls are spinning in the air above the dance floor.
This was also the wedding where the viral Tiktok of their son doing the best Flower Boy moment down the aisle happens as well!!!

Acre Baja Getting Ready Details
All photos credited to the BEST of the best: Amber @wildfeltphotography ! This girl was such a dream to work alongside with. We both ran around the venue together like little kids soaking in all of the sunshine, jungle textures and gorgeous architecture. We brainstormed creative shots together and teamed up to capture all those little details.
You’ll notice how beautiful this resort is with their getting ready villas. Can you imagine a little jungle side yard outside of your room like where Nicole put on her dress?! An actual dream come true!
Getting Ready + Details
Putting on the dress
After all the hair and makeup finishes, the big moment to put on the dress finally comes. We asked Nicole to put on her dress and then before buttoning with her mom, step out into the side yard of her master bedroom at the villa. The light and shadows casting from the giant succulent tree created such a beautiful atmosphere. Nicole also chose to give her mom a custom clutch in this spot too!
Shortly after, Nicole did a first look with her bridesmaids and we shot some quick portraits in the backyard!
Acre Baja Walkway First Look
That first moment of Steven seeing Nicole was a moment no one will forget! Don’t forget to watch their film to hear how precious Steven’s reaction was!
Acre Baja Resort Wedding Portrait Spots
After their first look, we walked around Acre Baja to our pre-planned photo spots. This is why we like to get to our destination weddings at least a full day in advance to scout these spots in all times of the day to determine what will look best at what time. Post first look and pre-ceremony is the best time to get a big chunk of those photos out of the way and we got to shoot everywhere, it was so fun! We wanted to make sure we were highlighting the architecture and nature of the venue.
Acre Baja Resort Wedding Ceremony
Nicole and Steven chose to have their ceremony in the ceremony lawn at Acre Baja. It was a large grassy yard just a short walk from their villa and right next to the pool for cocktail hour and the reception mango grove. With the timing of the sun, we got perfect back-lit sunny photos through those palm trees as well, win-win!
The couple also chose a boho pampas grass floral design we all swooned over. Everyone got a welcome cocktail and Steven shed many tears seeing his friends and children come down the aisle. It was the most precious ceremony with many laughs and happy cheers!
Acre Baja Resort Sunset Portraits
Something requested by Nicole and Steven, was they wanted unique spots for their sunset photos! So we put them on the roof for some drone shots (watch their film to see these!), fed the donkeys, danced under a tree where the sun was illuminating, and took pictures with the venue owner’s jeep by the vineyard! They were actually just moving it out of the way but we asked them if we could pose with it for some photos and they said Yes in exchange for a quick venue wine bottle shot to go with it!
Notice how different the lighting was at the Acre restaurant during golden hour!
Acre Baja Resort Wedding Cocktail Hour
The Acre Baja pool and bar area hosted this magnificent cocktail hour where just hours before, the staff set up giant white balloons on the pool and a mariachi band came and performed for the hour. The guests were even photobombed by peacocks all evening! We bet they smelled those shrimp appetizers!
Reception Details
They don’t say “Magic in the Mango Orchard” for nothing! This reception space was a dream come true. With colorful blue and white tile floor, mango trees throughout, a neon sign with their iconic “you’re still the one” disco balls glistening above and a giant teepee lounge set area, this placed welcomed you like no other. On top of that, Nicole and Steven added a pyrotechnic grand entrance + choreographed first dance alongside fire dancers, a 360 photobooth, a cigar bar and a churo station! Plus, the dance floor got rampaged with a popsicle cart midway through and bubble guns and sparklers lit up their last dance night of the night.
Trust us when we say, YOU HAVE TO WATCH THEIR WEDDING VIDEO if you haven’t already! It highlights the reception throughout the entire film because of how iconic and fun their party was. You don’t want to miss it!
Acre Baja Resort Wedding Cost
For a luxury wedding of this scale, you can expect an Acre Baja Resort wedding to cost at least 6 figures. All out reception details and ceremony florals are expected to hit around the 100k mark once you add in Mexico’s ~20% tax.
But remember, you’re given accomodation in the most epic treehouses and villas that you can split with your wedding party/family so you all get a week long stay at this beautiful resort. It’s a 2 in 1 vacation, wedding and honeymoon wrapped into one package. Plus, an unforgettable experience that you just can’t duplicate in the states. Mariachi music, peacocks and the moon rising while the fire dancers performed? We think it’s worth it!
