To begin with, the festivities kicked off with a tubing welcome event at Mt Norquay Ski Resort. Guests enjoyed endless mountain views, cozy s’mores, and energetic tunes from the DJ. If you take one thing away, this welcome event featured pure fun and unforgettable memories as guests tubed down snowy slopes.
Day Two: Coffee Event + Rehearsal Dinner

After that, on Thursday, Alex and Ian hosted a relaxed coffee gathering at Mountain Folk Coffee Co. Friends and family mingled over warm drinks, laughter, and casual conversations. Altogether, a perfect morning in Banff.
A Surprise Murder Mystery at Fairmont Rehearsal Dinner
Then, that evening, Alex amazed everyone by staging a Hollywood glam-themed murder mystery rehearsal dinner at Fairmont Banff Springs. Guests received magnifying glasses as place cards, and actors performed improv. Also, the bride even hilariously “dropped dead,” turning dinner into a captivating murder investigation! Then, on Friday, the wedding day finally arrived. The wedding ceremony unfolded on an elegant terrace at Fairmont Banff Springs, offering stunning mountain views. Guests were greeted with hot chocolate after a gentle snowfall cleared into sunny skies just in time for vows, creating a truly magical moment accented by lush, dramatic red floral arrangements.

Afterward, we took advantage of the breathtaking venue for couples portraits. Alex and Ian explored romantic, quiet corners, and we captured timeless portraits throughout Fairmont Banff Springs. In conclusion, the moody elegance of the castle, combined with panoramic views, perfectly suited their distinctive gothic vibe.
Banff Springs Cocktail Hour
Meanwhile, guests enjoyed a perfectly on-theme cocktail hour filled with charming, personal touches, including love-letter seating charts, an oyster cart, tarot readings, flash tattoos with pre-made designs of the couple’s favorite things (my personal favorites being the jellycat doll and espresso martini!)and a playful photobooth highlighting their beloved dogs. Instead of a guest book, attendees signed a deck of cards, further emphasizing their unique style.
Fairmont Banff Wedding Dinner + First Dances
Dinner featured a luxurious wedding banquet with black linens and ornate red blooms. A romantic fog machine set the stage for dreamy first dances, including heartfelt moments shared with both the bride’s dad and stepdad.

Finally, it was time to party! Every reception detail was intentionally dramatic—from the bride’s black lace gown to the whimsical pink pony blowups referencing their favorite Chappel Roan song. Day Four: Brunch at Bluebird in Banff, AB
At last, the weekend came to an end at Bluebird Wood-fired Steakhouse. This local restaurant offered a fireside brunch in rustic comfort, giving Alex, Ian, and their guests one more chance to relax together and reflect on their incredible destination wedding weekend.
