This Il Villino farmhouse elopement was the perfect combination of rustic charm and timeless romance. Nestled in the heart of Tuscany’s Chianti hills, the farmhouse provided the ideal backdrop for Mimi and Anthony’s intimate wedding day. With a mix of digital and film photography + videography, I had the honor of capturing every heartfelt moment of this beautiful celebration.

In this blog, I’ll take you through the highlights of M + A’s day—from their love story to their olive grove vow exchange—and share the wedding video that beautifully documents their unforgettable day.

Mimi + Anthony’s Love Story

Mimi and Anthony’s love story began on a street corner in Ballard. One evening, Mimi and her friend Anna were looking for late-night food options when they encountered a creepy stranger. To get out of the uncomfortable situation, Mimi spotted Anthony and his friend Josh standing nearby and quickly claimed they were with them.

Anthony, who insists Mimi gave him a “come hither” look, played along to help Mimi and Anna. After learning that Mimi was searching for a late-night snack, Anthony knew just the spot and invited them to join him. The group ended up at 13 Coins, where they sat on the same side of the booth and hit it off over a wheel of baked brie.

Several years later, their love grew deeper, leading to an Italian farmhouse elopement that was as unique as their first meeting.

Il Villino Farmhouse Elopement Getting Ready Details

It was my honor to capture this beautiful day on both photo and video! The elopement day started with a relaxed lunch at the farmhouse table. Mimi and Anthony shared fresh Italian foods and local wine, cheese and oils before heading to separate rooms to get ready. The details were simple yet elegant, with Mimi’s lace-edged veil and satin bridal gown adding timeless touches. Anthony even suprised Mimi with a ring proposal with her actual custom wedding ring (at this point, she only had a wedding band from the ceremony they had with family back home).

GETTING READY + DETAILS

Mimi got ready in a room filled with antique furniture and natural light streaming through the windows. Anthony looked dapper in his classic black tuxedo. The rustic decor of the farmhouse added a charming, nostalgic feel to their getting-ready photos.

Il Villino Farmhouse Elopement First Look

Mimi and Anthony’s first look was full of emotion and joy. Mimi snuck up behind Anthony, and his reaction when he turned around to see her in her bridal look was priceless. His whispered “Wow. Wow,” captured on video, was one of the sweetest moments of the day.

Intimate Italian Olive Grove Vow Exchange

The couple exchanged personal vows in an olive grove on the farmhouse property. The sun broke through the clouds just in time, illuminating the scene perfectly. Surrounded by the natural beauty of the Tuscan countryside and the sound of birds, Mimi and Anthony’s vows were nothing short of ethereal.

Il Villino Farmhouse Elopement Portrait Spots

After the ceremony, we captured romantic newlywed portraits around the farmhouse and olive grove. The property’s rustic charm, combined with the couple’s timeless modern style, made for stunning photos. The sun shining through the olive trees added a magical touch to every frame.

Champagne & Video Calls After Il Villino Farmhouse Elopement

Following their portraits, Mimi and Anthony poured champagne over a champagne tower to celebrate their new marriage. They then sat down to video chat with their loved ones back home. This modern twist on a traditional reception allowed them to share their joy with friends and family, even from across the world.

You HAVE to watch their wedding video if you haven’t already! It highlights these heartfelt moments, and you won’t want to miss Anthony’s reaction during their first look.

Il Villino Farmhouse Elopement Sunset Portraits

As the sun dipped lower in the sky, we took a sunset stroll down the road a couple miles to claim this random driveway to an unknown winery. The sky lit up in shades of orange and red, igniting their love like colorful fireworks. These moments truly captured the joyful, romantic vibe of their day.
