Jake and Mykayla’s vintage-inspired Oregon Coast elopement was a love letter to intentional details, quirky charm, and effortless style. Hosted at the cozy and earthy Meena Lodge, their elopement weekend was curated with thrifted treasures, rich textures, and Pacific Northwest romance. With a mix of vintage fashion, personal vows, chaotic cake cutting, and beach-hopping along the Oregon coastline, this day was anything but ordinary.
We helped them craft a celebration that felt like a warm postcard from the past—with Super 8 film, opera glasses, rain-drenched grass, and, finally, heartfelt slow dancing under glowing lantern light.
Don’t miss the teaser on our Youtube Channel —you’ll fall in love with their “video postcard” wedding film.

“Jake, Mykayla, and I dreamed about their video for months leading up to their iconic elopement at Meena Lodge. They wanted a ‘video postcard’ feel—tripod scenes, natural moments, and handheld snippets all woven together into a nostalgic film. I loved capturing this for them.” – Alesia
This wedding film was shot on a mix of digital and Super 8mm, layered with intentional grain and quiet, cinematic pacing to mirror the intimacy of their day. All in all, it’s one of our favorites to date.

The Night Before at Meena Lodge
This is a special section for me, because Jake & Mykayla have been my long time friends since college and when the wonderful hosts of Meena Lodge offered a free additional night to our couple, they extended this invite to myself and my husband! We ate Jake’s famous curry and had s’mores by the fire while talking about how excited we all were for tomorrow. Something I’ve never got to experience before and was so grateful to these two for sharing with us.
All photos were shot on 35mm film with my Olympus Epic Zoom 80 camera!

The Elopement Morning at Meena Lodge
The day began slowly with matching blue pajamas, warm coffee, and personal vows spoken over Meena Lodge’s iconic brown couch. The light filtered softly through the massive windows as Jake and Mykayla sipped from mugs they’d brought home from their favorite NYC café—the place where Jake proposed.
Altogether, this quiet morning was a highlight of the day, wrapped in the comfort of a home they’d chosen intentionally. Jake, who cooks nightly for Mykayla, prepared breakfast in the kitchen while their corgi, Maple, padded across the wood floors. This space wasn’t just a getting-ready location—it was part of their love story and where they had their first look before we jetted to the Coast for their ceremony.
And we had extra fun playing with Mykayla’s Maison Margelo wedding tabis!

A Vintage-Inspired Oregon Coast Elopement Ceremony
With the wind in their hair and the waves crashing below, Jake and Mykayla exchanged vows at the cliffs next to Cannon Beach, OR. Their best friend officiated as they stood in their curated outfits: a stunning ceremony dress from Murlong Cres and a brown wool suit from Indochino that echoed the earthy Oregon tones.
The wild beauty of their ceremony backdrop made it a particularly perfect choice. This wasn’t a traditional venue—it was an open canvas where they could express their love freely. Their ceremony was quiet, emotional, and profoundly meaningful.

Immediately after the ceremony, we “trashed the dress” that Mykayla thrifted and rolled around in the wet grass. The couple were non-stop giggling and head over heels in love celebrating in these portraits.

Newlywed Portraits at Hug Point State Park, Manzanita and Oceanside, OR
After the ceremony, Mykayla changed into her formal wedding dress from Murlong Cres and we all ventured to three different Oregon Coast beaches to complete what we called the “coastal trifecta”—sea cliffs, beach grass, and rocky caves. One standout moment? Using vintage opera glasses to watch the seagulls at Manzanita while we quietly filmed and photographed from behind.

OCEANSIDE
Back in the town where Meena Lodge is, we grabbed a quick bite to eat and caught the last of our cloudy daylight with their bouquet and some fun flash portraits with Maple their corgi!

The Cake Cutting + First Dance in Meena Lodge
Finally, back at Meena Lodge, they cut into a messy, beautiful “chaos cake” from Tum Tum, a nod to their love of organic texture and artistic imperfection. A rice paper lantern glowed above them as they swayed to a vinyl record in their living room, ending the night with a slow first dance under soft light.

Why the Oregon Coast Was the Perfect Choice
Jake and Mykayla were overwhelmed by the idea of planning a traditional wedding. After a year of indecision, we jumped in as friends and creatives to help them craft an elopement that would feel like them. In just four months, their vision finally came to life.
They trusted us to guide them through timelines, weather plans, and location scouting. We even made two schedules—one for clouds, one for sun—and let the weather decide. In the end, their overcast Oregon wedding day created soft light and moody romance, ideal for both film photography and video.
Looking for guidance on your own intimate elopements? Start with a location that speaks to your heart—and find a wedding photographer who knows it well. The coast is stunning, but local insight makes all the difference.
