Jane & Garrett’s Love Story
“We met through my sister, Agnes. Garrett built/designed & owns a music venue in Austin, TX called Kingdom Nightclub, and Jane was a tour photographer in the music industry. Garrett met Agnes at one of her events he was at, since she’s an event planner in ATX, and when he heard about Jane through Agnes, he just had to meet her. Agnes texted Jane that night saying she met the most amazing man for her, so the following weekend, Agnes took Jane to Garrett’s venue to introduce them.” – Jane
How did Garrett propose?
I (Jane) wanted to do something special, but intimate for my 30th birthday, and flights were cheap to Paris so we went to Paris for the weekend. Little did I know that a month before my birthday, my mom had given her blessing to Garrett for us to get married by passing down a ring my dad had given her the same year Garrett was born. Two weeks later Garrett asked my dad by the pool for my hand in marriage, and my dad was elated and said yes.
In Paris on my 30th, I chose this famous restaurant Le Train Bleu at the train station. Garrett kept my proposal private and intimate inside the massive restaurant during lunch and it was so special to have that romantic moment to ourselves even in a bustling train station.
Why did you choose to get married at Skibo Castle?
My father belongs to The Carnegie Club at Skibo Castle and Garrett’s family is Scottish – which is why we chose Skibo. A true fairytale wedding in a castle in the Highlands.
